What I really meant to say…

Update 5/31/2011 - Just kidding about what I said below. I’ve come up with a theme I want to explore. You’ll see…

Update 5/17/2011 – I have abandoned this blog. I had not thought about it much until I wrote an email to a friend. Here is what I said:

I had my WordPress blog set up and had dozens of articles. I took them all down. It is just an empty shell. I just don’t have a real reason to blog. I’m not worried about attracting money. I don’t have a circle of friends I want to influence or impress. I certainly don’t think writing a blog lends any personal status. I do have some experiences about chronic pain, robots, evolutionary psychology, the environmental hoax, macro economics, photography, video making, corporate instruction, writing technical (computer) books and other stuff; but nothing that hasn’t already been written about on the web. (I mostly do little Web videos now.)

I spent hours and hours learning how to set up and use WordPress last summer. This is a great piece of software and great fun to work with. (You don’t need to spend hours and hours. Most people can do it in less than an hour. Just don’t try anything fancy at first.)

When I last posted the following home page I was in my usual winter slump (read: depression). I was trying to psych myself into making something happen. Unless things change somewhere along the line, this is likely to remain an unused and useless web page. Oh, there were the glory days when we wrote web pages in HTML using Notepad…

Originally 2/4/2011 – I blog erratically about anything that comes to mind. I’m also going to use some material I wrote a long time ago. I’ll include a few photographs that have interesting stories. Above all, I want to finish thoughts that occur long after some conversations. In most cases they will be my excuses too improbable to be voiced at the time.

There, I have laid out my plans for a blog. I also plan to use social media as much as possible to gain a few readers. When I prepare a topic, I want to write to a specific person. I’ll then let them know that I have written something they might find interesting. You can find my basic info on a page called “All About Me.”
